Bringing Women Executives from Across the Globe Together to Connect, Cultivate and Discover
LadyDrinks provides a space or place for successful businesswomen from across the globe to meet monthly and share not just resources but also in open conversation, so they can truly support each other.
LadyDrinks helps women executives develop their businesses by providing resources, access to other successful women, and opportunities that happen naturally when you’re in the company of thoughtful and engaged women.
LadyDrinks offers women who run businesses opportunities to find their voice, and compelling ways of expressing what they want to bring to the world.
I rarely do public speaking. I had nerves and anxiety as I was readying for the LadyDrinks Fireside Chat last January. Joya was a great resource for me in preparing for it. She sent me the outline of talking points ahead of time and shared where to I should add more story or color. She shared wonderful tips on how to handle a public speaking engagement. They worked like a charm for me!
“….Thanks for all you do! It is wonderful to see how you enjoy connecting and empowering women. I look forward to next month’s meeting.”

After business school at Wharton, Mona Bijoor held several positions in the fashion industry. When she became senior buyer at Ann Taylor, she saw the pain points wholesale sellers faced. As retailers like her employer curated apparel to sell for the upcoming season, the process was still done with old fashioned pen and paper. What if she created a marketplace online where wholesalers could upload their lookbooks, retailers could review the collections , and purchase select apparel at wholesale prices?
JOOR was born in 2010.
By 2016, the company was processing over $10 billion in gross merchandise. Clients included Neiman Marcus, Harrods, Michael Kors, and Kate Spade. Offices expanded to Los Angeles, London, Paris, Milan, Sydney, and Melbourne. Mona was recognized by Crain’s 40 under 40 and Wharton’s 40 under 40, and received the Big Apple Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Today, Mona has written a book called Startups and Downs, The Secrets of Resilient Entrepreneurs. She interviewed over 50 entrepreneurs and tackles topics such as negotiating with VC’s and ‘What’s the best sales strategy?’ Notes from a Nov 2019 talk here

Five years ago, on a retreat to California wine country, one of the ladies discovered Patel Winery on a local map and wondered aloud why were weren’t headed there given that we are a South Asian executive women’s group? Years later, I hunted down the founder and CEO.
Friday, January 24th, join us in the private dining room of Kiran’s Restaurant in Houston for a Winemakers Dinner with Raj Patel. He will narrate as we enjoy a four-course bespoke menu, created by Chef Kiran, and matched with the wines from this Napa Valley vineyard..
This LadyDrinks event is open to couples and friends.
About Raj Patel, Founder, Patel Winery
Raj Patel moved to California from India when he was 6 years old, and is currently one of the few Indian Americans involved in the Napa wine industry. When he graduated from college, he did a summer internship at Robert Mondavi Winery and became a fan. Patel Cellars released their first commercial vintage in 2007.
The focus of their vineyards is in the southern part of Napa Valley – continuing to source from select vineyards mostly in the Coombsville region. Coombsville is among the cooler parts of the valley and is a region strongly influenced by the nearby San Pablo Bay.

This dinner is a conversation-driven format. In a round-robin, we will introduce each woman attendee and her company/title. Each woman shares a recent win, a current challenge, one resource she has to share, and one thing she needs right now. Joya will moderate the conversation.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2020 is #EachforEqual. We celebrate women’s achievements with this dinner.

What is your relationship with money? What is your children’s knowledge of household finances? LadyDrinks hosts a special mother-daughter event February 22nd.
Saturday, February 22nd, LadyDrinks member Sunaina Mehra of Francis Financial leads us in a “Money Circle,” a conversation circle where we get curious about our story around money. As women, we have a knack for connecting. When we come together to connect around something as powerful and complex as money and our children, we’re capable of making profound changes. With this exercise, we engage our daughters in the conversation about money too.
This event is generously hosted at the home of Bhavna NIgam, Founder of Bhavna’s Exclusive.
About the afternoon
We will have exercises to help uncover the underlying values of money unique to your family and share tools and resources that will help you educate the children in your life.
The purpose of the Circle is not to talk spreadsheets or discuss investment strategies. The Circle is about learning from each other, and from ourselves.
We will start promptly at 1:15pm, so please plan to arrive at 1pm, and expect to stay until we close the Circle, at 230pm. Light bites and beverages will be served.

We were featured speakers at the ALL India Women’s Economic Forum in Delhi, where we shared our personal insight and professional expertise on topics including gender equality, personal branding and the importance of socio- economic engagement. We believe in building support systems where there are none. LadyDrinks is about building your network, your support system to advance you professionally while allowing you to grow personally. Yes, we’re here to talk about your desire to become a senior executive, but let’s also address the cultural hurdles you may be up against that are very real. Times are changing and LadyDrinks meets change with empowerment. We’re empowering women to be leaders–in business, in the community and in their homes.
“LadyDrinks has been a phenomenal resource for my business. Not only have I made amazing connections with likeminded successful women,
LadyDrinks has also brought me business and connected me to clients, which I never would have had an opportunity to meet had it not been for Joya’s network.”
“Because of this network, I was able to hire a strong, talented member to my team, for a
highly-coveted role. Joya made the perfect connection to someone who made a
transformative impact in my organization.”
“As South Asian women, we are encouraged to ‘over achieve,’ instead of ‘let go’ and ‘enjoy life.’
I had a thriving and large dental practice with cutting-edge technology and lovely patients who were more like family. But, I hardly spent time with my two adorable children.
After listening to featured speaker Jennifer Macaluso-Gilmore at a LadyDrinks event, I made a change. Jennifer talked about the importance of women ‘having it all’ but living life in chapters in order to achieve that. She stopped mid-career to spend time with her children because they would be 1 year old or 2 years old, only ONCE.
I sold my practice, traded it in for a smaller one in favor of spending more time my kids. Guess what? I saw them soar. Best decision I ever made. At LadyDrinks, I have connected with some amazing ladies and hope to see more and more come on board. Joya thank you so much for your amazing network!
