I’ve had the pleasure of hearing Fran Hauser speak twice before and I’m so delighted to bring her messaging about women in the workplace to the LadyDrinks platform.
Fran spent 15 years in the digital media space, holding executive positions at Time Inc., AOL and Moviefone. She negotiated major deals (such as the sale of Moviefone to AOL), and has written a book on how women can be’nice’ and ‘kind’ but still be ‘strong’ and ‘assertive’ in the workplace.
Today she is known as a startup investor and former President of Digital at Time Inc., and author of The Myth of the Nice Girl: Achieving a Career You Love Without Becoming a Person You Hate.
Learn as she and I engage in a conversation in the art of being ‘nice’ while navigating common work-related situations.
“I want the book to transform the image of what a successful leader looks like so that it’s not just someone who’s smart and demanding and tough and has high expectations, but it’s also somebody who’s kind,” says Hauser to Forbes Women. “That’s the higher level mission of the book. And I think the timing is perfect for it.”

LADYDRINKS PARIS: PRIVATE TOUR OF THE LOUVRE OF WOMEN-ONLY ARTISTS FRIDAY APRIL 12TH 2019
Friday, April 12th, LadyDrinks Womens Networking heads to Paris for a private tour of the Louvre Museum with a docent. The theme of the tour is ‘women only artists’ followed by drinks on the wing of the Museum.
On background, the networking platform has been on 2 private tours of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on the same theme. We have also travelled to Washington DC to National Museum of Women in the Arts, a museum entirely dedicated to women artists.
On all three occasions, we learned about the societial and formal training hurdles women artists had to overcome in to order to become respectable and bankable artists. It was a real teaching moment for anyone who has ever uttered to themselves “I can’t.”
We also learned about the importance of women SPONSORING other women’s careers. Vigee Le Brun was one of four woman granted admission to the prestigious Académie de Saint-Lucfor formal art training. Marie Antoinette sponsored that important introduction.
In cooperation with the American Friends of the Louvre, a docent leads us on a private tour of the Louvre‘s women-only artists on Friday April 12th. Meet at 6pm just outside the Pyramid marking the Louvre. Afterwards, we will enjoy cocktails on the terrace of the Richelieu Wing of the Museum.
This tour is our anchor event for the Paris trip. Other events will be built around the Louvre visit.
