Title: Corporate Recruiter & First Time Author
Industry: Human Resource Management
I am a Corporate Recruiter at Navy Federal Credit Union and a first-time author. In the last 14 years, I’ve hired thousands of professionals in Information Technology, Data Science, Analytics, and Project Management. I have a MA Degree in HR Management from the University of Maryland, and live in Washington, DC with my family.
My guilty pleasures include Bravo TV reality shows – I rarely miss an episode of the “The Real Housewives” franchise. Because I am not the “cookie-cutter” Indian woman, I’m often misunderstood and harshly misjudged. I’m notorious for having RBF (Resting Bitch Face) but want people to know that I actually know how to laugh!
I previously had a blog (mscynicism.com) where I published my unconventional opinions on thought-provoking social topics. What started as a blog discussing personal frustrations with the world, turned into a full-fledged memoir called “Watch Your Back.” This book is a powerful account of my experiences as a two-time divorcee and survivor of domestic abuse.
I hope my book can inspire other victims and survivors to learn from my experiences. I believe my stories can resonate with a lot of women, especially those of South Asian heritage, who battle societal and cultural pressures daily. Amidst the backdrop of my own struggle with these pressures, I take readers on my journey of gaining, losing, and regaining my independence and power.
